MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

QUESTIONS and ANSWERS from GB

Q. How did you come up with this concept?
GB. I started building scaled down motorcycle powered dragsters many years ago. I am intrigued by the horsepower to weight ratio. As far as the Mini- Pro Funny Cars go, all I can say is I have a God given talent to create. The scale of these cars is close to the full size Funny Car. I knew that people would be able to relate and appreciate.

Q. Where can you race these Funny Cars?
GB. These cars are bracket racing cars. You race them against the big body cars. They have classes in IHRA (quick-rod class) and NHRA (pro and super-pro). The classes vary from track to track.

Q. What is the weight of a rolling chassis Funny Car?
GB. Approximately 350 pounds.

Q. What kind of brake system is being used?
GB. We use a Wilwood brake system. #1 we use a composite master cylinder. #2 we use a single Dynalite dual piston caliper and brake pads, with a 10" steel brake rotor.

Q. Is a parachute necessary for the Funny Car?
GB. The rules state any car faster than 150 mph has to be equipped with a working parachute.

Q. What size of driver can fit in one of these Funny Cars?
GB. Virtually any size driver. All pedals, steering wheel, and brake handle are adjustable.

Q. How old do you have to be to drive one of these Funny Cars?
GB. The rules state 16 years of age and up, with a valid driver's license. Example: NHRA in pro and super-pro class, cars running 9.99 in a quarter mile and 6.39 in a eighth mile or quicker...mandatory to have a valid competitions license.
